Database unlock code

Updated over 3 weeks ago

We have implemented protection on the Access WageEasy database to prevent unauthorised changes within the database structure. In some instances, this protection needs to be unlocked in order to operate and use Access WageEasy efficiently.

Clients must first sign the Database Unlock Agreement document, permitting us to unlock the database by supplying the user with an unlock code.

Note: Changes made to the database after running this tool may result in consulting charges to fix the databases.

First, obtain a Check Number from the DB Password Removal Tool:

  1. Run the DBPasswordRemoval.exe, located in c:\Program Files (x86)\Wage Easy Payroll\Utility.

  2. Double-click the DBPasswordRemoval.exe, which will launch the Password Removal Tool.

  3. Select Connect, and the Authorisation Check window will launch.

  4. Do not close the window.

To get your unlock code, raise a new case online and attach a screenshot of the Authorisation Check screen plus the completed/signed Database Unlock Agreement.

Once you enter this code, you will be asked to go to the location of your database. Navigate to this location, click on your database (the .wed file), and then select Open. The tool will close, and you will be able to continue to use the database as normal, including importing and exporting items from external systems.

Note: There is no correlation between this database password used to open the Access WageEasy database and the password saved in Setup, Passwords you will use to log in to Access WageEasy. The users' passwords used to log in to Access WageEasy will remain intact.
