Enter planned leave in advance

Can I enter leave into WageEasy in advance?

Updated over a week ago

Within WageEasy, it is possible to enter any type of leave into an employee's record in advance. This saves time on payday, as you will be able to import this already approved leave into the transactions for the required PPE date.

You are also able to run a report that will show all planned leave and the status, this will also alert you to leave that is pending and needs approval from a manager.

To enter your planned leave in WageEasy, please follow the steps below:

  1. Go to Employee Details, select the employee, Leave, select the Leave Type, and then select the Planned tab at the bottom of the screen, Add.

  2. Under the Leave Details tab, enter a Date Requested.

  3. Enter the leave dates in From and To when the employee is going to be away.

  4. Select the Status, this is a very important field. Planned leave will only be paid out if Approved is chosen. You may like to choose Pending if the leave has not been approved by the appropriate manager and needs to go through an approval process. You may also like to choose Pending if you are forecasting leave for a busy period. If the leave is Approved at a later date, you will need to come back to this screen and change the Pending status to Approved. Other options are Cancelled and Rejected. These can be used for HR tracking purposes if the leave is not approved or the employee withdraws their application.

  5. Once Approved is selected, you will then have the option to enter in a PPE date as to when you would like the payment to be made and the hours you wish the employee to be paid. Click OK.

  6. The Manager field is optional, and if filled in will appear on the HR, Leave Applications report.

The planned leave entry will automatically flow through to Wages and the Pay Slip in the PPE you have selected on the Planned screen.

The planned leave can also be brought into the system by selecting Wages, Auto, and selecting the last option on Processing Options.
