Superannuation payments on a termination payment

To ensure superannuation is paid on all components in WageEasy Super is not automatically calculated on a termination payment.

Updated this week

If it is determined that superannuation must be paid on all components (including termination-related payments), proceed with the following steps.

  1. Update Award Settings

    • Navigate to: Awards, select the appropriate award, Edit.

    • Scroll down to Payments, Superannuation and scroll down to Pay Superannuation Guarantee on (Other).

    • Select all relevant components such as:

      • Termination Notice

      • Severance

      • Leave when terminating

    • Important: Remove any Cap Amount to ensure the correct percentage is calculated, as these payments will likely exceed the cap.

  1. Handle ETP (Ex-Gratia) Payments

    • If adding an ETP item (e.g., ex-gratia payment), WageEasy does not automatically include this value in the “Pay Superannuation on (Other)” section. A manual calculation will be needed to add the superannuation amount for the ETP component to the total super payable.

  2. Verify Calculations

    • After adjustments, review the superannuation calculation for accuracy.

    • Ensure all flagged components and manual additions are reflected in the final payment.
