Long Service Leave seems incorrect

LSL is not showing the correct amount for years of service, or is not displaying after the entitlement date.

Updated over 2 weeks ago

Long Service Leave, like all other leave in WageEasy, is driven by the award to which the employee is attached and the rules or settings that have been applied.

Investigating a problem with LSL starts with the employee's start date, regardless of their employment type, casual, part-time or full-time. Employee, Employment, Employment, Employed:

Next, you will need to review the Award the employee is attached to: Employee, Employment, Award. Award Date: can also be useful if the award has changed, as the conditions may have changed as well.

If your employee is not showing they have an entitlement, check the following:

  1. Setup, Awards.

  2. Select the award, Edit.

  3. Leave, Long Service.

Start with the Entitlement Tab; this will show you the period you need to work for the entitlement. Also, check the boxes underneath; Other Entitlement Conditions: if they are ticked, this can impact the entitlement of LSL, especially in the instance of the employee having Leave Without Pay.

Next, go to the Accrual Conditions and check if boxes are ticked under Other Accrual Conditions. These can also impact accruals if an employee has taken LWOP, for e.g: if not ticked and an employee takes 20days LWOP, their entitlement date will be pushed out by these 20 days.
