In the following steps, I will select the correct settings in the employee's award for the above to take effect.
Note: These changes will affect all employees on this award.
Go to Awards, select the award that requires this setup.
Select Sick Leave.
From the tabs, select Accruals. Edit the Calculation Method, and select Calculation Type: Block from the dropdown. In the Rate (HH.hhhh) field, enter the number of hours to be granted, for example, 3 weeks of 38 hours would be 114.
Then go to the Accrual Conditions tab, using the dropdown select, Each year, on the anniversary of the employee's commencement from Create additional accrual records: Tick the box Leave does not carry forward. Maximum accrued hours: 114.00, tick the box Leave accrues even during periods when the employee is on Leave Without Pay.
Select the Entitlement tab, fill in the not entitlement period, in this case, I will choose the first 3 months. Number of Units: 3 Units: Months Calculated from: Employment Commencement Date.
Select the Payments tab and review the Payment Options. It is suggested to tick the box that Payments can be edited at Wages Processing, and if required A Medical Certificate is required for this leave type.
Note: All other tab selections under sick leave will remain as per your current setup. Please review your settings within your award to ensure they align with sick leave requirements.
