The EPrintError occurs as a result of WageEasy not recognizing the default printer across the network. Probably due to:
Insufficient network user access Permissions; or
Out of date printer driver or there is a problem with the printer driver, and it may need to be reinstalled.
Have you recently reinstalled\upgraded WageEasy?
Are you running WageEasy under a different windows account or from a new PC?
Does the print driver need to be updated?
Here is some generic information about screen printing which may assist you or you may want to provide to your IT personnel. It is generic information only – this means it is not WageEasy specific:
The Screen printer is a virtual printer created by ReportBuilder that uses the screen device context to generate reports to preview and file. Naturally, the screen printer cannot be used to print to a printer.
An attempt to print to the printer using the Screen printer will result in an error being raised by ReportBuilder stating that the "Screen printer does not support printing".
The Screen printer is automatically selected if no printer drivers are installed on the machine or if ReportBuilder cannot get a valid device context to the printer driver. Windows printer drivers are installed by user account and contain security access rights.
If your application encounters the error, "Screen printer does not support printing", try the following:
Download the latest printer driver from the manufacturer's web site.
Completely uninstall the printer driver.
Reboot the machine.
Install the latest printer driver.
Compact the database
Note: With troubleshooting the above, WageEasy would also recommend the following.
Have you tried running WageEasy as administrator OR installing the NoAdmin release of WageEasy to see if you can then see the default printer within WageEasy.
Change the default printer to another printer to see if it prints correctly.
If WageEasy is not recognizing your default printer your IT personnel may need to check\test UAC\Security access rights if WageEasy is not recognizing the default printer.
Discuss with your IT personnel whether the print driver for your default printer needs to be uninstalled and reinstalled.
Note:
A workaround would be to produce a softcopy of the file (print to PDF) and print the file or access it on a computer that does not have problems printing files.
