In an award, there are different Leave types:
Annual leave.
Sick leave.
Long service leave.
Other leave.
User-defined leave.
When the leave type is not Annual, Sick or Long Service Leave, then the leave type is Other leave or User-defined leave.
How the Web API classifies the leave type for other leave or user-defined leave is if the leave type has an accrual rate. The Web API will display this leave as user-defined leave. If there is no accrual rate, this will display as other leave.

If employees in the same WageEasy database cannot apply for user-defined leave or other leave, it is because the database contains identical leave type names, descriptions, and short descriptions across different awards, one with an accrual rate and another without.
To investigate or amend accordingly in WageEasy please follow the steps below:
Backup of WageEasy.
Select Setup, Awards.
Click Edit on the Award you need to update.
Select Leave.
Click the Leave you need to update.
Click Accruals and edit the Accrual Rate to match the same set-up as all the awards.
Select ESS button on the Standard Toolbar.
In Send To ESS, select Send Maintenance.
Click Send.
To investigate or amend accordingly in ESS please follow the steps below:
Log into ESS.
Select Settings, General.
Tick Sync from Payroll tick box.
Click Sync.
After the sync has been completed, the leave reason should display. If the leave reason still does not display, please raise a case online and provide us with the authority to access your ESS Environment and reference the title of this article.
