Add STSL to an employee record

Employees with Study and Training Support Loans can have this amount taken directly from their pay, it is also referred to as HECS

If your employee is required to pay STSL, you have 2 options depending on how you want it displayed on the payslip.

Option 1:

If you want STSL and PAYG added together and only shown as 1 line on the payslip follow the below steps:

  1. Go to Employee, Edit Employee.

  2. Then Payments, Tax.

  3. Under Basic Details, Tax Table: select 02 With General Exemption + STSL (2024-25).

Option 2:

If you want STSL and PAYG to show as 2 separate lines on the payslip follow the below steps:

  1. Go to Employee, Edit Employee.

  2. Then Payments, Tax.

  3. Under Basic Details, Tax Table: select 02 With General Exemption (2024-25).

  4. Under Secondary Tax: select 02 STSL Only (2024-25).

Note: The above example is related to With General Exemption; if you require No General Exemption, select 01 in all selections.
