Note: A user defined Query is a Query written by WageEasy Developers, to extract information from WageEasy, and saved in WageEasy. To access User Defined Query, go to HR, User-defined. WageEasy needs to point to the correct location for user defined Queries. Check the location in Setup, Preferences, Configuration, File Locations. Only WageEasy Developers can edit/modify a User Defined Query.
The way you save a User-Defined Query depends on whether you are using WageEasy for desktop or online (cloud). Each of these are described below.
In hosted environments, user-defined queries uploaded by the Hosted team can typically be found under HR, User Defined Queries. If you are unable to locate a specific query, ensure that it has been uploaded to your hosted path.
Saving a User Defined Query in WageEasy Desktop:
Common Default Path:
C:\Users\Public\Documents\Wage Easy Payroll\Queries
The query will need to be saved in the default query location for WageEasy.
If you are not sure of the default query location for WageEasy go to:
Setup, Preferences, Configuration, File Locations, Queries.
The path shown under queries is where you should save the attached query.
If the query file is in a ZIP format, right-click the ZIP file, select Extract All, and extract the contents to the default query folder.
Once saved, please run the query by going into:
WageEasy, HR, User Defined Queries.
Saving a User Defined Query in Payroll Online (Cloud):
Make sure Setup, Preferences, Configuration, File Locations are pointing to H:\Home\Update Queries
If you cannot find a query in the hosted environment, verify with the Hosted team that it has been uploaded to the correct path.
The Queries folder has been updated for Online customers and loaded to your home drive automatically. Please ensure that your queries folder is pointing to the home drive (H:), Queries location.
To run any of the new queries
Go into WageEasy, HR, User Defined Queries.
If you need to upload a new query that isn't already in WageEasy software, and you are an Online (Hosted) Client. Save the file you have downloaded and unzipped to a location that is accessible on your PC, you will need to access WageEasy using Payroll Online RDP.
Go to HR, User Defined Queries Editor.
Select any query, Edit, enter a new Title (this can be anything you are not actually saving it), and Save.
Now browse for the WEQ file (find the file that was saved on the local PC or network drive).
Copy and paste to the home drive Queries.
Once saved, run the query by going into WageEasy, HR User Defined Queries.
