With the introduction of STP2 and disaggregation of pay components and pay items it has become a bit more involved to balance all figures back at a glance.
With the below screen shots, I will try and break it down further.
Running STP2 Update.
Select STP2 Icon.
Click on STP Update.
Select All Employees and correct Financial Year.
OK.
In the below screen I have customised my screen to bring in only my allowances side by side.
I have also brought into my heading Total Allowances.
If I add all my individual Allowances across, it equals $2540.23 not $2930.23 as in my Total Allowances.
This tells me that the Allowances listed above are taxable, and grouped to Allowance Items, I may need to print the YTD Allowances Report,
Select Reports.
Allowances.
Year to Date.
Now that I have printed my YTD allowances report, I can see I have a Car Allowance for $390.00 as an Untaxed Amount.
I also see at the top of the Allowance Payments that I have 2 amounts of $20,000 and $1000.00 that are also on my report, these amounts need to be deducted as they are grouped to different STP Reporting Groups not Allowance Items

Note: The way that certain pay components and allowances appear in STP2 comes back to the reporting group they have been attached to when originally set up in STP2, to check the settings of Allowances
Go to Setup, Allowances, if the headings for STP2 Reporting Group or STP Reporting Subgroup aren't appearing bring them into the grid.
Another option to see a broader display of all pay components is to:
Goto: Setup, STP2 Setup, Next, Next and you will be able to continue with selecting Next to see all groupings.
TIP: To customise, right mouse click in the grid, select customise and then drag the desired headings into the grid from the Customization box, to close the box click on the red cross.
